Gavin lynch stated out dj'ing at the tender age of 15,after been introduced to turntables by a close friend in his home town of dundalk, from there travelling up and down to dublin on a weekly basis buying records,to cater for his knew found addiction was a necessity.from there he eventually moved to dublin at the age of 19 closer to the environment he craved to be involved in.
with a few appearances coming his way every so often, courtesy of robbie butler, supporting the likes of 'adam beyer', 'marco corolo', & 'billy nasty', to name a few, this just wasn't enough,so in turn gavin started up his own night,at the underground club 'soho with his close friend 'youny'.other nights were ran in the sugar club, giving opportunity to other inspiring local dj's & artists on a monthly basis.
from there dj'ing just didn't full fill gavin's musical needs, so production was the next & only step as far as he was concerned.he then enrolled into stc(sound training centre) in the heart of temple bar, were tutoring from esteemed producers and artists would soon rub off on the enthusiastic dj,soon to be producer.within stc,the principles of sound and production were absorbed by gavin through completing his sound engineering diploma, and training in classical piano at waltons school of music.this would soon play an integrate part in his production methods.
from there gavin wanted to explore the possibilities of a live performance, incorporating hardware and software to maximize his options, and to of course test run his own productions in a club environment. he was asked to play at a 'no dj' night ran by a friend were the use of turntables were not allowed, in turn purely focusing on a live performance, incorporating synthesisers,a groove box and of course the mighty 'ableton live' at the helm .on the same night a fellow student russell cooley was also playing, russell began producing when he was 16 years old, introduced to fruityloops by a friend he instantly became obsessed with making music. he'd listen to the then music of the time(hard house) and would not give up until he was able to reproduce the sounds of his favourite producers. after his music gaining alot of airplay on irelands pirate radio stations and with his songs getting played in the local clubs he was offered a record contract at 19, due to his declining interest in hard house he declined the offer.
he decided to sign up to a new sound engineering course in dublin's sound training centre in an attempt to perfect his abilities, there he has spent nearly 5 years hanging about learning as much as he possibly can about all aspects of music and video production.he spends all his time now writing music for your ears and visuals for your eyes, in his opinion its all about the show!
after meeting for the first time the two lads had a chat and it wasn't long before they were working away side by side in gavins studio in the depts of dublin city.after a couple of tracks were produced, they realised they were creating almost a knew sound, blending together different influences and styles.
after 3 months of producing tracks non-stop and discussing what elements they could put into a live show they finally got their chance to put it all into practice, on june 10th 2006 at acii disco in dublin they played their first full on gig as sourcecode.
since then they have played around the country supporting bigger dj's and getting the respect of the piers while acquiring new fans at every gig, with the release of their first album "contemporary corruption" on allan banford's evolved records and a sure release of many more be prepared to conform!
