Upside down on a dancefloor near you!
what a team! robot koch mainly known as the producer of the german export star jahcoozi teams up with the texas residing and japan raised mc cerebral vortex for a journey deep into the border region of the electro and hip hop. after releasing their critically acclaimed 12" "vortex cookies" on up in my alley they're back with a new 5 track ep.
the title track "upside down" with ira atari on the hook is a monster in the truest sense of the word ready to attack dance floors all over the world, even more so in the reworked version done by the berlin super crew bugati force. but the ep is not only a party record. it ranges from futuristic beat collages ("madness"), to the catchy hook blessed "highschool musical" on to true school anthems such as "cold rock". it allows us an insight into the casio watches & sega game station socialised mind of cerebral vortex. while there has been a huge increase of electro influenced hip hop releases robot koch eclectic production's manage to create a unique sound far ahead of those that jump the train just because it is "en vogue".
robot koch & cerebral vortex have recently been featured on the juice mag cd as well as in different print mags all over europe.
be on the lookout for other new jakarta records releases e.g. the new studio album by kero one "early believers" on nice double vinyl.
