Perc trax is proud to present it's 25th vinyl release. for a label initially set up as an outlet for perc's own music, perc trax has somehow hit a quarter-century of vinyl releases featuring a host of a-list producers including james holden, district one, ripperton, nathan fake, go hiyama, norman nodge, avus, remute, matt tolfrey, gary beck and many more.
from the very first release ali perc's a&r philosophy has been to sign the kind of music that he would play in a club and would like to hear others play. so who better than to step up for this milestone release than misc. whose records for sender, resopal, kompakt, klang and lost souls have been a constant presence is ali's well-travelled record box. they also currently record as the popular niederflur for richie hawtin's minus imprint and are working on their debut album under this name.
from early heavy-hitters such as rocket skating and the talking ghosts ep on sender to their recent releases on lost souls and their killer remix of perc's 'swords' misc's productions have always been about a blend of sonic experimentation and percussive drive that never loses sight of the dance floor, a mantra that could be extended to perc trax in general.
for this ep they treat perc trax to 3 of their finest productions in a long time. title track 'wave after wave' revolves around a moody vocal hook and bouncing percussion, 'confined' adds dubbed out atmospherics to the mix and wild ponies closes the ep with a deep sub-bass driven groove that works perfectly as a dj tool or lead track. already tried and tested by ali around the world and at his london residency, this is another strong release for perc trax.
