Agoria launches his new label with an absolute classic. despite being a fundamental part of the european techno scene for over a decade, it is only now that sebastien devaud aka agoria has decided to take the big step into starting his own label and what better way to start than with the greatest detroit techno record ever made – strings of life. infiné promises to introduce you to new and exciting producers and their first discovery is the gifted young pianist, francesco tristano. his stripped down version of derrick may’s timeless production was first used on agoria’s recent mix comp ‘cut & cult’ and instantly gained respect and excitement from the world’s leading tastemakers, starting with derrick may himself. berlin based kiki (b-pitch/crosstown rebels) and apparat (shitkatapult) have both stepped up for the remix and the results are two very different but equally brilliant dancefloor gems. kiki decides to go cowbell-tastic with a fun-filled rolling groove, while apparat stays characteristically deep and glitchy with his deep but epic sound. the mexican murcof (leaf/tijuana) produced the original version. francesco tristano will have a full album out on infiné in early 2007. a great first release! « sumptuous take » dj (12/2005, uk)
