The titel track “rush me” fuses the steinbergian house style with the lo-fi charm of the roaring 20’s. it comes over slightly poppy but with a very relaxed and laid back groove. steinberg at his best! format:b’s “rush me” remix, that has been reduced to the original vocals comes over trippy and with a good dose of bongo’s making it into a grooving party track. steinberg’s “es la vida” is an elegant reduced tech house beauty. the rhythmic, percussive vocals hit on a very monotone but kicking bass line. a touch of a warm night by the sea in spain! format:b’s interpretation of “es la vida” concentrates on the vocals and some of the percussion from the original, and combines steinberg’s basics with a hypnotic synth-structure that boils up in the last third of the track until it finally explodes! all tracks aren’t scared to admit that they’re aiming for the peak time. 4* different styles. kick ass!
